For years I worked in the corporate world, as advertising executive, marketing and sales manager and management consultant.
Copywriting and content development were key elements in each of those roles.
As a life-long business writer, I've written thousands of stories, articles, blog posts, web pages, advertising copy, email campaigns, newsletters, case studies, and sales proposals...You get the idea.
These days, I use those decades of hands-on experience to write copy and develop content helping small and midsize service businesses tell their Value Story.
While my business focus has always been on the revenue side (marketing and sales), my industry experience has ranged from hi-tech to construction, and from management consulting to aviation. I even built a B2B sales team from start-up to $260 million for a large federal agency.
Outside of business, my writings range from articles about designing and building airplanes, to sustainable business growth, and the occasional science fiction story.
In my (much) younger days, I played the infield in the American Legion baseball league, was a reasonably competitive racquetball player, and an avid snow skier. I've been designing and building competition-winning model aircraft since grade school.
As a confirmed gear-head, I've spent countless hours under the hood of numerous Mustangs, Chevys, and Jeeps.
I have a BA in Marketing Communications / Journalism from Southern Illinois University.
While at SIU, I had the privilege of taking courses in advanced problem-solving under internationally recognized futurist, R. Buckminster (Bucky) Fuller.
And yes... Bucky's lectures were full of the same convoluted, run-on sentences so familiar to his readers. But, his brilliant insights were well worth the concentration.
Combining the best of all those years of hands-on experience, last year I founded Jack Zimmanck.com to help forward-looking service businesses connect with their clients... Person 2 Person.
Just for the record, I'm told that my sense of humor tends toward the ironic, though ironically, I'm not quite sure what that means.
